Fire Academy Fees

Tuition
The Fire Academy class is a 12-credit course. Tuition rates vary depending upon your residency.

Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT): $95

Uniform: approx. $170
Fire Academy cadets are required to purchase a set of uniform clothing.

Textbook: approx. $145

Certification: $220 total
The Kansas Fire and Rescue Training Institute (KF&RTI) charges a fee of $110 for administering the Firefighter I certification test (including hazardous materials awareness) and $110 for administering the Firefighter II certification test (including hazardous materials operations).

KF&RTI certification fees are due about four weeks prior to the testing dates. The testing dates are at the end of the semester. These fees are not paid to JCCC.
