Verification
Verification is a review process required when student’s files are selected by the U.S. Department of Education for review. If a student's file is selected for verification when applying for federal aid, JCCC's Financial Aid Office is required to verify the data on your application. Our office complies with this request by requesting proof and clarification of specific information supplied by the student and the parent on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
If your application is selected for verification, it will be posted as a missing requirement on your MyJCCC account. Please print, complete, and submit the noted verification worksheet to the Financial Aid Office along with any other forms that are posted as missing, only if requested. Do not submit additional documentation if it has not been requested by our Financial Aid Office.
During the verification process, you may be required to submit tax documents so that we can verify your income information. Any tax forms that you submit to our office must be acquired directly from the IRS, and would not be the same as the forms you filed.
