Federal Work-Study Time Card Instructions

Time cards are due on specific dates. Dates are listed on the JCCC Hourly Payroll Calendar located in Infoshare. When prompted enter your employee username and password.

You are responsible for making sure that your time card is properly filled out and submitted on time. Failure to accurately complete your time card and turn it in on time may result in a delay of two weeks or more in receiving your paycheck. If you continually fail to complete and submit your time card, you'll be terminated from the program.

Students may not work more than 20 hours per week. The federal work-study coordinator will determine the actual number of hours you work per week. Students cannot work during scheduled class hours.

Your time card should show hours worked in intervals of 15 minutes in the 99:99 format. For example, 10:00, 10:15, 10:30, 10:45.

Student employees must accurately report hours worked on their time cards. Supervisors must certify that the hours worked are correct.

Web Time Entry Guide (PDF) provides instructions for entering and submitting your hours worked.

Our policy is to immediately and permanently terminate employees who falsify time cards.

The penalties are severe:

The student may be charged with forgery and petty larceny, one count for each time card. These are misdemeanor charges. If the pay illegally obtained is large enough, a felony charge of grand larceny may be made.

There are federal laws regarding fraud in obtaining financial aid. Fines of up to $10,000 and five years in jail are potential penalties. Immediate termination of financial aid, repayment of aid received and a permanent bar from receiving further financial aid of any type are possible. The student must be reported to the U.S. Department of Education for possible prosecution.

Conviction of a felony will bar a student from entering certain professions such as teaching, nursing and law enforcement.
