Only U.S. or Canadian citizens attending a U.S. accredited business school, college or university may apply.

Altrusa International Woman’s Scholarship Award
Recipients: Women residing in Lawrence or Douglas County who demonstrate financial need. Must also be enrolled in or accepted by an academic or career training program, working toward a career goal.

Beauty Schools Marketing Group Scholarship
Recipients: Students who are pursuing a career in any field of cosmetology and are not currently in a cosmetology program.
Amount of Scholarship: $2500
Requirements of Applicant: Applicants need to fill out a short entry form and answer three essay questions. Cannot already be in cosmetology school. Must not be a resident of Florida, New York or Rhode Island.

Recipients: Kansas high school seniors or other persons entering a Kansas college or university, pursuing a degree in environmental science or related area.
Amount of Scholarship: $500
Requirements of Applicant: Maintain an overall GPA of 3.0 with a GPA in major field of study of 3.2 at the time of the application. Must also show an interest in the biological or physical sciences. Provide two letters of reference as well as complete the personal inventory form.

Cancer Survivor's Program
The American Cancer Society's Heartland Division announces a program to help cancer survivors pay for college expenses.
Recipients: Residents of Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Hawaii or Texas who are citizens of the U.S. and have had a cancer diagnosis before the age of 21 and are 25 years old or younger when applying.
Amount of Scholarship: Up to $1,500 will be awarded, limited to availability of funds.
Requirements of Applicant: Applicants must have been accepted to an accredited university, community college or vocational technical school and be 25 years of age or younger at the time of application. See website for all requirements.

Community College Scholarships - Coca-Cola Scholars Found.
Recipients: Students attending a two-year institution and planning on acquiring an associate's degree.
Amount of Scholarship: Annually awards approximately 400 scholarships of $1,000 or $2,000.
Requirements of Applicant: Each campus can nominate one student. Students must have a GPA of 2.5, community service, employed part-time or full-time, and be enrolled in at least two courses during the upcoming fall term at a two-year institution. Must be planning to acquire an associate's degree from their institution.

Community College Scholarships - Jack Kent Cooke Foundation
Recipients: Current students, recent alumni and those ready to transfer to a four-year college.
Amount of Scholarship: Approximately 50 scholarships worth up to $30,000 per year.
Requirements of Applicant: Each campus can nominate two students or recent alumni. See Web for complete information. The foundation seeks applicants with academic excellence and unmet financial need, among other criteria.

Community College Scholarships - Hispanic Scholarship Fund
Recipients: Applicants must be of Hispanic heritage; be a U.S. citizen, legal permanent resident or have a passport stamped I-551 (not expired).
Amount of Scholarship: Various scholarships of $1,000 to $5,000 for students transferring from a two-year college to a four-year institution.
Requirements of Applicant: Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.00 (though some are higher) and apply for federal financial aid using the FAFSA. Application is online; see contact information below.

Requirements of Applicant: Must have completed a minimum of 32 hours of college credit by the spring semester and transferring to a four-year accredited public, private or church-related Kansas college or university. a 3.0 grade point average is required along with good character and leadership qualities. Three letters of reference are required.

Early Childhood Professional Development Scholarship
Recipients: 18 years or older, seeking a degree in early education, work in a licensed center or family child care home that is working toward quality improvement.
Amount of Scholarship: Covers tuition, fees and books.
Requirements of Applicant: Must be working at licensed center of family child care home for minimum of 30 days and completed the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).

Executive Women International ASIST Scholarship Program
Recipients: For students, male or female, who have financial need and socially, physically and economically challenged adults who are responsible for small children.
Amount of Scholarship: Up $2,000.
Requirements of Applicant: Must have clearly defined career goals and objectives and specify the educational requirements to attain them. Must utilize a re-entry program available through JCCC, community agencies and service groups or career professionals. Must be 18 years of age or older. Must submit two letters of recommendation. Must reside in an area served by the Kansas City Chapter of Executive Women International (Greater Kansas City Area). See the application for all requirements.

Gates Millennium Scholars Program
Recipients: Low-income, minority students who will be enrolling for the first time at an accredited college or university for the following fall semester full time. Must be a U.S. citizen or national or legal permanent resident.

Requirements of Applicant: Must have a GPA of 3.3 on unweighted 4.0 scale or earned a GED, be Pell Grant eligible, as determined by filing the FAFSA, demonstrate leadership abilities. See website for all criteria required.

Recipients: Must be receiving a federal Pell Grant, applying or accepted into a study-abroad program eligible for credit by the student's institution of higher education in the U.S. This scholarship is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.
Amount of Scholarship: Up to $5,000 per scholarship.

Recipients: HIAS assisted refugees or asylees.

Recipients: Must be a full-time undergraduate or graduate student or a part-time graduate student enrolled in a Kansas or Missouri college or university.
Amount of Scholarship: Minimum of $500, may be more depending on the number of qualified applicants.
Requirements of Applicant: Student must be in curriculum relating to facility management. Those curriculums include, but are not limited to, the study of interior design, architecture, engineering, business operations, construction science and environmental design. Must be a full-time student.

Marine Corps Scholarship
Recipients: Son or daughter of a Marine on active duty or in the Reserve, or of a former Marine or Marine Reservist who received an Honorable Discharge, Medical Discharge, or who was killed while in the service of our country. You may also be considered if you are the son or daughter of an active duty, Reserve or former U.S. Navy Corpsman who is serving or has served with the U.S. Marine Corps.
Amount of Scholarship: $500 to $10,000
Requirements of Applicant: Applicant must be a high school senior or graduate, or be enrolled in an undergraduate or post high school accredited college, university or vocational/technical school. Minimum GPA of 2.0. Maximum family adjusted gross income of $80,000 or less as shown on IRS tax forms. Income requirement is waived for any applicant whose parent was killed in combat in the Global War on Terror.

Medical Alliance of the Metro Medical Society of Greater KC
Recipients: Student who is accepted into an accredited college or university program and pursuing a career in nursing or other allied health career such as occupational therapy or physical therapy.

Military Children
Recipients: Dependent unmarried children under the age of 23 of members of the military - see website for all who are eligible.
Amount of Scholarship: $1500 from each Commissary location with qualified applicants.
Requirements of Applicant: Information is usually available in early November. Applicants should ensure that they, as well as their sponsor, are currently enrolled in the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS) database and that they have a current ID card. Students must be enrolled full time and have a 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 basis) and working on their first undergraduate degree. See website for all conditions.

MUST Scholarship Program
Recipients: Scholarships for students who are pursuing an undergraduate degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) discipline at an accredited college or university in the United States. Especially want undeserved populations to apply: women, African Americans, Hispanic Americans, Native Americans and persons with disabilities.
Amount of Scholarship: Up to one-half of tuition and fees not to exceed $10,000.
Requirements of Applicant: U. S. Citizen, reside in the US or Territories of the U. S., full-time student, GPA of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale, pursuing a degree in physical science, technology, engineering or mathematics.

National Association of Women in Construction - Greater Kansas City, Mo. Chapter
Recipients: Awards are made to both male and female students pursuing a career in a construction-related field.
Amount of Scholarship: $500 to $2,500
Requirements of Applicant: Applicant must be pursuing a career in a construction-related field. You must be enrolled as a full-time student and have at least one term of study remaining in a course of studies leading to a degree or an associate degree in a construction-related field. Part-time students are not eligible for awards.

Recipients: High-achieving, full-time student who is legally blind in post-high school degree program in the United States.

Nursing Scholarship, Kansas Board of Regents
Recipients: Kansas resident admitted to nursing degree program at an eligible Kansas post-secondary institution and commitment by an eligible sponsor to fund up to half of the scholarship and provide full-time employment to the recipient within 6 months after licensure.
Amount of Scholarship: LPN students are eligible for $2,500 and RN students are eligible for $3,500. Sponsors pay from $1,000 to one-half of the scholarship, and the State of Kansas pays the remaining amount.
Requirements of Applicant: Completed FAFSA; Kansas resident; admitted to nursing degree program at an eligible Kansas postsecondary institution; obtain sponsorship from a medical provider for whom you want to work.
Application Deadline: FAFSA must be processed by May 1 and the nursing application should be submitted as soon as possible for best consideration. Awards are based on the receipt date of the Nursing Service Scholarship Application and will be made as long as funds are available. If conditions of eligibility are not met, this does become a loan. Recipients: Students who overcome the challenges of epilepsy, are successful in school, and have done well in activities outside the classroom or in the community.

Requirements of Applicant: Must be under a doctor's care for epilepsy, be a good student who participates in activities outside of school, and can be a high school senior through graduate school.

Requirements of Applicant: Must be enrolled or planning to enroll in a full- or part-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited 2- or 4-year college, university or vocational-technical school and have at least two semesters (or a minimum of 24 credit hours) remaining to complete an undergraduate degree.
