Summer Book Advance Information
The Book Advance is a way to use part of your awarded financial aid in advance to purchase books at the JCCC Bookstore. It is not additional financial aid.

• Online reservations for summer began April 23 and will not be available to pick up until May 30. Students using this option and the Book Advance should reserve books by selecting “Financial Aid” as the payment method and “Financial Aid Hold” as the shipping method. If paying with financial aid, orders cannot be shipped.
• An FB hold will be placed on your account May 25 if you have been awarded summer aid in excess of your tuition costs. This does not prevent you from making changes to your classes. The Book Advance will be loaded on your JCCC ID card and you can check the balance on your JCCC ID. The maximum book advance is $2000 and the minimum is $50.
• The book advances is available for use at the JCCC Bookstore starting May 25. When you pick up your books, the bookstore will charge the amount of purchase against your financial aid Book Advance. If your books cost more than your Book Advance, you will need to pay the remaining difference before you can pick up any of your books.
• Book advances will expire June 9 and will not be available to purchase books after that day.
• If you choose not to use the Book Advance or to only use a portion of it, the difference plus any remaining financial aid will be refunded to you after June 15.

 
Summer Financial Aid Checks - Starting June 15, the Financial Aid Office will mail your financial aid check to your current address on file with JCCC. Direct deposit refunds will be processed on or after June 15. You can sign up for direct deposit online using the following steps:

• Select Login to MyJCCC which may also be found by hovering over the Login at the upper right of most pages of our website.
• Enter your Username and Password to log in
• Select My Finances tab at top of the screen
• If a separate window does not automatically open, select Login now on the MyFinances page
• Select the eRefunds tab at the top of page
• Select Set up Account
• Complete all of the information and select Continue
• Please read the agreement and if you agree, select I Agree and select Continue
• If you have set up your eRefund successfully, you should receive the message, “Your new ACH payment method has been saved”
