The focus is on the impressive and inspirational short story collection by Raymond Carver.

As part of an ongoing series in which faculty and staff members present books to promote the humanities, Aaron Prater, associate professor of Hospitality Management, will discuss Carver's third collection of stories, "Cathedral," with special attention to the story "A Small, Good Thing."

Prater says, "While all of Carver's work has been important to me, the story 'A Small, Good Thing' was one of the first pieces I was exposed to, and it has helped inform both my cooking and my teaching."

The event is free and open to the public.
