It Could Be So Much Better: Constructions of Global Political Cynicism

Research tells us that citizens are more politically cynical than ever, which results in apathy and an active avoidance of politics. Is this same cynicism studied in the United States expressed by global women? This presentation will explore how women from MMIAPEZ (Mongolia, Morocco, India, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Egypt and Zambia) discursively construct their attitudes and perceptions about politics in their countries.

JCCC's College Scholars program showcases faculty excellence in research fields that go beyond the classroom to make scholarly contributions to knowledge within the professor's academic discipline.
