Equipment and tools listed here are not required for admission into classes. You can get them as you need them after you complete the program.
Personal Equipment
- Safety glasses or goggles
- Dust mask or respirator
- Lightweight (Tyvek) coveralls and hard hat (optional)
- Gloves - disposable, leather and rubber (possibly)
- Telescopic ladder or extension - 12 to 15 feet
- Smooth-soled work shoes and/or shoe covers
Test Equipment
- Infrared thermometer an digital pocket thermometer
- Two-channel digital thermometer
- Rechargeable drill and assorted drill bits or step drill bit
- Carbon monoxide detector - some are available with analysis capabilities
- Volt stick
- Bore scope
- Smock stick and/or thermal imaging (IR) camera
- Airflow meter
- Combustible gas leak detector
- Inclinometer (protractor)
- Circuit tester
- Pressure pan with handle
- Blower door and manometer (complete with adequate amount of hoses; a second manometer is desirable)
Tools
- Digital camera (to document inspection)
- COmpass
- Pliers/vice grips/channel lock
- Hammer
- Tape measures and/or rolling measuring device or laser tape measure
- Flashlights (2) and head gear light (possibly)
- Utility knife
- Miscellaneous screwdrivers
- 1-inch paddle bit

- Knitting needle (non-conductive_
- Fireplace lighter or long matches
- Foil tape (good quality)
- Masking tape (1- and 2-inch)
- Electrical tape
- Caulking and red high heat caulking
- Miscellaneous sheet metal screws and 1-inch wall plugs
- Miscellaneous rags and/or shop towels
