EMT - How it Works
The program consists of classroom instruction, practical skill training and clinical experience. Emergency Medical Technician students must take the following courses:
- Prerequisite: First Responder Course (EMS 128)
In certain circumstances this may be waived. If you have equivalent military, other medical or fire department training, you will need to consult with EMS faculty and provide proof of current training. - Certificate Course: Emergency Medical Technician (EMS 130)
You must consult with EMS faculty before you enroll in the EMT course to make sure you have everything you need.
