IM Advising

You can ask a counselor general, quick and non-personal questions through Instant Message (IM) Advising.

You're likely to find one of us online from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, but service availability may vary. If an advisor's status is online in the IM box, someone is available to answer your question.

If we're not online, send us an email. Please allow up to two working days for an email response.

Personal Information

DO NOT discuss personal information in the IM box. DO NOT type your Social Security number, student ID number or any other identifying information into the IM box.

The feature is not secure, and others may view your messages. Counselors can't discuss personal information via IM because of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
