In addition, students are prepared for careers in interactive media and information technology.

It provides courses to update the skills of computer professionals as well as those courses needed to support other technical and non-technical programs at JCCC.

The department provides basic computer science courses for students planning to transfer to four-year institutions and offers short courses in current software, desktop publishing and web-based applications consistent with industry-recognized competency testing criteria to meet the need of local employers, their employees and the community at large.
