WordPress is more than a blogging platform. In the hands-on Building a Blog with WordPress class, you’ll install and configure WordPress. Then, you’ll set up the WordPress site with blogging sections and web pages, using WordPress as a content management tool.

The class then turns to installing and modifying themes. Look and feel is important, and you’ll create menus, modify the theme and add video and audio content. Analyzing the traffic the site receives is an important tool to optimize a site for quick response and findability, and you’ll use the tools in WordPress to do so.

In our Building WordPress Themes class, you’ll create and modify themes to further enhance a WordPress installation. You’ll explore a variety of techniques to work with child themes to extend the look and feel of a WordPress site.
