Sykes Lady Overland Park Golf Course

In the history of golf in Overland Park, two men, Ben Sykes and Wendell Lady played prominent roles. There would be no Overland Park Golf Course if these two former City Council members had not had the vision of what green space and recreational facilities mean to a community. In the late 1960's and early 70's, Sykes and Lady were instrumental in laying the groundwork for what players see today.

The club has three nine hole combinations and all three are a links-style design. The Westlinks Course has three ponds that come into play on several holes. A wide array of tee locations gives ladies, juniors and senior men more opportunity to have a pleasurable, successful experience playing golf. The Sykes/Lady Overland Park, Golf Course is also one of the most popular and best maintained courses in the area. In addition to the three nine-hole courses, the facility also features a nine-hole Par 3 course, a driving range, practice bunkers, multiple putting greens, chipping areas and a full-service golf shop and snack bar. Golfers of all skill levels enjoy this course for its challenges, playability and design, including soft, rolling fairways, panoramic views and large bentgrass greens.

Well known for its junior programs and lessons, this First Tee facility hosts one of the largest junior golf tournaments in the Midwest, and offers adaptive golf for veterans and people with special needs.

The Sykes Lady Overland Park Golf Course has served as the Cavaliers home course since 2011-12. Alvamar, Heritage Park, Ironhorse and Sycamore Ridge have also served as the Cavaliers home course.
