Meet Melisa Jimenez
As the recruitment coordinator for JCCC I will visit with students of diverse backgrounds and assist them in their higher education choice. My territory is Western Kansas in addition to Wyandotte, Sedgwick, Lyon and Shawnee counties in Kansas. I make bi-annual visits to high schools and attend community and recruitment events throughout Kansas. I am fluent in English and Spanish and use my skills to serve the Spanish speaking population to assist in the transition to college.
I will also be involved in both on campus and community organizations that provide support for current high school and college students, created with the multicultural student in mind.
I began working at JCCC in August 2012. In 2007 I received my bachelor of arts from the University of Kansas and recently graduated with my masters of art from the University of St. Mary, Leavenworth.
Meet Erin Elmore
As a recruiter for JCCC I visit high schools in the Johnson County area and assist students in enrolling in the College Now and Quick Step programs, as well as enrolling at JCCC after graduation. My territory includes Bishop Miege High School, De Soto High School, Saint James Academy, Saint Thomas Aquinas High School and the Shawnee Mission School District. I look forward to getting to know the students and helping them achieve their academic goals.
I will be actively involved with on campus events and community organizations that provide support and additional resources for students pursing higher education.
I began working at JCCC in March 2014. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in journalism with an emphasis in strategic communication from the University of Kansas in 2013.
Meet Teresa Leland
As an adult student recruiter, I will visit with students looking to further their education and assist them with the admission process. I look forward to meeting with students and helping them get started in the right direction. You are welcome to contact me with questions throughout your time at JCCC.
I am involved with the Kansas City Collegiate Admissions Professionals (KCCAP) group and attend Educational Fairs at local businesses interested in promoting the importance of education to their employees. I also work closely with the selective admission and cooperative programs here at JCCC.
I have worked at JCCC since 2004 in both credit and continuing educational positions. I graduated from JCCC and then went on to complete my Organizational Management and Ethics degree from Oklahoma Wesleyan University in 2010.
Meet Shalia Satter
As a recruiter for JCCC, I visit schools in the Johnson County area to promote College Now, Quick Step and our degree programs. I also assist students with enrolling in the College Now and Quick Step programs we offer. My territory includes Blue Valley School District, Olathe School District, Gardner School District and the Spring Hill School District. Throughout the year I will attend local college fairs and visit high schools within my territory.
I will also be involved with on campus events and with community organizations that provide additional support to prospective students pursuing higher education. I will offer my assistance on campus with programs that incorporate high school students into the culture of JCCC.
I began working at JCCC in December 2014. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management with a minor in Business from Kansas State University.
Meet Candace Villanueva
As the Diversity Recruiter for JCCC I will meet with and assist students of varied populations to reach their academic goals with success and satisfaction. My territory is Wyandotte, Shawnee, Sedgwick and Lyon counties in addition to Western Kansas and the Kansas City, Missouri area. I look forward to reaching out and engaging prospective students.
As a graduate of JCCC, and previous experience as a Student Activities Ambassador and Testing Center Assistant, I have a wealth of experience and knowledge to share with prospective students. I also work closely with the JCCC Debate Team and am an advisor for the Outdoors Club on campus.
I graduated from JCCC and then completed my Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Services through Ottawa University in August 2014. I am currently completing my Master’s degree in Organizational Development with a certificate in Executive Leadership at Avila University.
