Benefits and Requirements for Brown & Gold Members
Requirements and Dues
The requirements to become a brown & gold member are that you must be a minimum of 55 years old and be a Johnson County, Kansas resident for a minimum of six months or more.
The dues to become a brown and gold member are $10 per academic year.
Member Benefits
As a dues paying member, you may receive the following benefits and any additional benefits established during the year of your membership:- Credit Tuition - Free tuition for most credit classes on a space-available basis during B&G registration posted in the academic calendar for each semester. These classes also include Lifetime Fitness.
- Continuing Education Tuition - Reduced fees for most non-credit courses referred to as Continuing Education classes as seen in the class search by selecting Continuing Education.
- Social Events and Programs - Free social programs such as Halloween ConcertFest, Winter Concert, and May Gala Celebration. Refreshments are also provided.
- Trips and Tours - Educational trips and tours to local, regional, and national destinations at lowest cost to you.
- Presentations - Gold-Quest presentations are provided at no charge several times during the semester. Topics include health, art, community, world religion, and others of interest to you.
- Performing Arts Series - Each member may purchase one $5 discounted tickets to Performing Art Series sponsored by the college that has a minimum selling price of $15. Call the JCCC Box Office at 913-469-4445 to purchase tickets.
- JCCC Sporting Events - Free admittance to all home JCCC Cavaliers athletic events.
- Current Events and Newsletters - Newsletter mailed to your home to keep you informed about upcoming events.
- Networking Connections - You will have numerous opportunities to network and meet new friends by participating with this organization as well as assisting with Brown & Gold committees.
- JCCC Bookstore - You will also be eligible to receive a 10% discount for merchandise at JCCC Bookstore. This discount does not apply to textbooks, computer hardware or software, electronics or gift cards.
