Why did you choose JCCC?

I decided to come to JCCC because it was the best option I had to start studying in the U.S as an upcoming international student, who was looking for something affordable, but of high quality and close from home. It seemed like the perfect match for me considering that I was new to this country and everything was different for me.

What clubs or extracurricular activities are you involved in?

I'm involved in some Clubs and Orgs at JCCC such as LUNA (Latinos United Now & Always) which I have the opportunity to lead as president.  I am also part of the International Dance Club, which I lead as the vice-president. Through LUNA and the International Dance Club, I  have had the experience to give my time to volunteer with the elderly at nursing homes by dancing and bringing joy, children at after school programs by planning activities and spending time with them, and the  youth by having high school visits to motivate them to attend a higher education institution.

What is your advice for future students?

My advice for future students is to find opportunities that help them shape their abilities as leaders for their communities by getting involved in Clubs and Orgs at JCCC, volunteering and serving with different non-profit organizations that work with different sectors of society, and taking advantage of every resource available for them as students while attending JCCC.

What is your favorite part of JCCC?

My favorite part of JCCC is the fact that there are small classes, attentive professors and many different academic centers willing to help out the students to succeed in each of their classes. There are also various opportunities to receive scholarships through leadership roles and on campus job positions that can master each student's abilities to perform in future jobs.
