Computer Information Systems - ACTTS

Accelerated, Collaborative Technology Training Services (ACTTS) provides a number of ways to get through computer classes faster with more targeted help.

Join us for the Reverse Career Fair!

Employers do the walking, you do the talking.

Reserve your table for the Reverse Career Fair from 9-11 a.m. on April 27 in the Regnier Center's Capitol Federal Conference Center, RC 101. We're turning the tables — you'll have the chance to interview potential employers.

Reservations are due by Monday, April 23.

Through customized, accelerated modular programming, you are more quickly able to acquire the skills needed to be workplace ready.  A pre-placement self-assessment of skills and knowledge can assist you to begin your coursework at the most viable point.  Additionally, support is provided to ensure your successful outcomes – both academically and for employment.

Through ACTTS you'll have opportunities to complete a degree or certificate faster than a traditional program.

These accelerated learning opportunities are available to students majoring in the following Computer Science and Information Technology (CSIT) programs:

Computer Information Systems/Software Development

Within the CIS/Software Development program you may take advantage of a modularized bridge course as well as a prior learning assessment for placement in CS 134 – Programming Fundamentals.

Information Systems/Networking

IT/Networking for CISCO coursework allows you to access on-campus equipment from remote locations. Courses will also be formatted for you to begin or complete courses on a more flexible schedule.

Web Development and Digital Media

If you're enrolled full time, you can finish the Web Technologies certificate in one semester.  

Web Technologies certificate courses meet Monday through Thursday during the day. Fridays are dedicated to study groups, tutorials, employment preparation, etc.  You will also have some opportunity for beginning and completing courses on a more flexible schedule as they are developed.

Health Information Systems

HIS courses are online and bundled in five-week blocks. This lets you complete multiple courses within a semester.

We'll help you all along the way. For participating in ACTTS, you can get:

  • Career coach support to assist with academic and career success via development of a customized learning plan
  • Contextualized math modules available to support math content within CS/IT programs
  • Prior Learning Self-Assessment to assist with determining the most applicable CS/IT program for you
  • Opportunities for learning within a collaborative, experiential learning environment replicating that found in industry
