RPPP - Review Process and Forms

The RPPP at Johnson County Community College is responsible for reviewing all proposed research and campus activities involving human subjects, regardless of funding.

The RPPP is federally registered and must follow federal guidelines set by the Office for Human Research Protections, which is housed within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

In order for any proposed research to be approved, certain criteria must be met.

Exempt research proposals are usually reviewed within five business days of submission. Expedited research proposals are usually reviewed within 10 business days of submission.  Remember that revisions may be required before approval is issued, so plan ahead to keep your project on schedule.

If the project isn't considered exempt or expedited research, then it's considered full review research. Full review proposals must be approved by the full board and can take up to four weeks to be reviewed.

Forms

You'll be notified via email or inter-department mail when your application has been reviewed. Your notification letter will state whether the RPPP approved or denied it and what steps you need to take.
