From the Chief
Welcome to Johnson County Community College.
As a member of the JCCC community, you will learn that students, faculty, staff and visitors all work together to maintain a pleasant and safe campus environment.
You will also learn that as members of the JCCC community, your participation in our continuing efforts to preserve that environment is important.
The college is dedicated to public safety based on education and service. Our goal is to provide personalized services and direct contact as we help enforce JCCC’s rules and regulations as well as local, state and federal laws.
In rare instances when a threat to the college community exists, we will provide information to you in a timely manner.
JCCC’s Public Safety system is designed to enhance communication between the JCCC Police Department and the rest of the college community.
Campus police officers serve as a point of contact for emergency and non-emergency matters such as crime prevention programming and other issues that may impact the safety and security of the college community. This system enhances communication among members of the community and helps to ensure that the campus is a safe and inviting place to study and work.
This year’s "Together for a Safe Campus" report contains a wealth of useful information ranging from how to take advantage of services to report a campus crime.
I encourage you to review the report and to contact us if you have any questions.
As a college community, we can continue to maintain a safe and pleasant campus environment. We want your stay here, as student, faculty, staff or visitor, to be an enjoyable one.
Gus M. Ramirez
Chief of Police
