Apply your military skills to a career in the trucking industry.

Commercial trucking is a high-demand and fast-growing industry that offers flexibility, good pay and numerous employment opportunities. Professional truck drivers can earn up to $70,000 in their first year of driving. If you're a veteran interested in earning your CDL-A, Johnson County Community College has a limited number of full-tuition scholarships available through a Commercial Motor Vehicle Operator Safety Training (CMVOST) grant.

Our professional truck driving program is taught by experienced truck drivers and trainers — some of whom are also veterans. They understand how your past experiences, skills and training can work to your advantage in the evolving trucking industry.

The JCCC CDL training program meets the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations set forth for entry-level driver training requirements and in accordance with the 49 CFR 380.503.
