The following information comes from the named instructor and should describe characteristics general to courses as taught by this instructor. Individual sections of specific courses will deviate from this description in some respects.

Class Format

I teach hybrid and on-campus sections of BIOL 144. In the hybrid class the content is delivered by recorded lectures with PowerPoint presentations. In the on-campus class I use the PowerPoints and lecture with some interactive questioning. The on-campus students are encouraged to ask questions during this time. My hybrid students are encouraged to send me emails with any questions they have. This is an integrated course so lab is interspersed with the on-campus lecture. My hybrid students come to lab on-campus at set times.  Lab involves experiments, microcopy, and mostly working with models. Testing is on-campus for all my sections and includes a written test and a lab test. Homework assignments for all my sections are on-line.
