The following information comes from the named instructor and should describe characteristics general to courses as taught by this instructor. Individual sections of specific courses will deviate from this description in some respects.

Class Format

Class format varies based on the daily material to be covered and the class participation. Usually a class begins with instructor presentation followed by teams working on the assigned questions for the chapters. There can be current event topics to be discussed. I encourage class participation heavily.

Resource Use

Textbook, Connect, and the Internet (current news), non-graphing calculator

Grades are based on four exams which include the final exam, quizzes, and chapter assigned questions, connect and attendance as per my Syllabus:

  2. HOMEWORK – Total value 100 POINTS, it will come from Study Questions, Web-based Questions found at the end of each chapter; plus non-textbook assignments.
  3. QUIZZES – Total value 100 points.
  4. On line McGraw Hill Connect assignments are required, 100 point value.
  5. EXTRA CREDIT assignments may be provided from time to time, as needed for the class as a whole not individually.

Homework Policy

The chapter study questions come from the textbook plus, on occasion, from current events. Connect is required for this instructor's Economics classes.

Attendance Policy

Attendance is expected and will be taken every class meeting; perfect attendance will be rewarded with bonus points. No exams or quizzes can be made up unless the student advises the instructor in advance of an absence.

Instructor is available 20 minutes before and after class or by appointment. Communication is key and email correspondence is used extensively.
