The following information comes from the named instructor and should describe characteristics general to courses as taught by this instructor. Individual sections of specific courses will deviate from this description in some respects.

Class Format

 Face-to-face sections are utilized to emphasize the theoretical concepts, and the relevant applications. Student participation is highly encouraged. In-class exercises and group discussions are utilized to actively engage students. Feedback and questions are handled immediately.

Resource Use

Textbooks supplement the lecture, and provide practice problems. Practice problems are an integral part of the learning process.

Calculators are used regularly during the course thus a scientific calculator is needed.

Computer software MS word is utilized for writing exercises.

There are 5 unit exams and a final exam. In addition students are required to take 12 quizzes throughout the semester. Approximately 80% of student’s total grade is determined by exams and quizzes.

Homework Policy

Students are required to turn in pre-lab assignments at the beginning of each laboratory session. Late homework is not accepted.

Attendance Policy

Attendance is highly encouraged.  There are no make-up quizzes available, and missing a quiz will result in a grade of zero.


I am available Tuesdays through Thursdays in the morning, and by appointment.  Responses to emails are provided within 12-24 hours.
