Renee Portmann’s parents were both community college professors that helped instill her great love of learning. Renee’s career began in the healthcare field as a staff Respiratory Therapist. She was employed by a hospital system in Fargo, North Dakota as a clinician/outreach educator, and as a member of the flight team for The Children’s Hospital. In her last year with the hospital system, she was employed as a Market Strategist for the administrative team. While in Fargo, she also finished her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees concentrating in healthcare administration.
When Renee left Fargo, she relocated to Denver, and was employed as a clinical liaison for a large healthcare system, worked in hospital administration, and was employed as an allied health program director for a private school. In 2005, she moved to the Kansas City area and worked as a clinician before beginning at Johnson County Community College in 2009 as Director of the Respiratory Care and Neurodiagnostic Technology Programs.
In her spare time, Renee loves the performing arts, world travel, animals, and golfing. She also devotes time to volunteering in several community projects.
