Licensed Practical Nurse

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Enroll in the full-time licensed practical nursing program, and you’ll be finished – and highly employable – in only 10 months. For those needing work full-time while studying part-time, a weekend and evening program provides the same 880 hours of instruction, but with flexibility in mind.

Licensed practical nurses care for the physically or mentally ill in a variety of health care settings, learning in the classroom and in clinical practicum. Use the LPN program as a stepping stone to becoming a registered nurse (RN) or completing your bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN), or go to work immediately in the healthcare sector.

Students enrolled in the evening program will complete the program in within 14 months.

Gainful Employment Data for the Practical Nursing Certificate

JCCC's licensed practical nursing program is approved by the Kansas State Board of Nursing. Graduates of the JCCC LPN program consistently exceed the national average pass rate for the National Licensing Exam for Practical Nursing (NCLEX-PN). The job outlook for LPNs is very promising and employment of LPNs is expected to grow faster than the average for other occupations.
