Ms. Michel is one of the primary faculty responsible for the paramedic training programs at Johnson County Community College in the Emergency Medical Services department.  She started at JCCC as a member of the MICT lab staff in 1998, became an adjunct instructor in 2014, and a member of full-time faculty in January 2017. Ms. Michael graduated from the paramedic program at JCCC in 1996.  Prior to that she received her Bachelor of Arts in Human Biology from the University of Kansas.

After Ms. Michel graduated from the paramedic program at JCCC, she worked for Johnson County Med-Act.  Ms. Michel was a field paramedic until she was promoted to Team Leader/Lieutenant in 2000.  She was a member of the adjunct faculty while at Johnson County Med-Act, assisting with teaching the continuing education for all county providers.  Ms. Michel was also a member of the Hiring Group, the Information Technologies Group, the Emergency Communications Center Working Group, the Dispatch Review Committee, the Quality Assurance Group, the Med-Act Council, and a member of the Systems Planning Group, for which she was the leader for eight years.
