AARON ROOSE is originally from Tennessee by way of St. Paul, Minnesota where he completed his undergraduate at Concordia University with a B.A. in theatre in 2003. In December 2013 he received his M.F.A. in Theatre Design and Technology as well as his M.A. in Theatre History and Criticism from UMKC. His masters’ thesis focused on the history and evolution of the position of technical director in twentieth century American theatre. He will be chairing a panel at the United States Institute for Theatre Technology’s annual convention in 2014 on the related concept of artistry, as it relates to the position of technical direction. Local show credits include Technical Director of multiple productions at UMKC and the Unicorn, as well as dramaturgical assignments at the Coterie and the Unicorn. Aaron has occasionally been ON the stage in the metro area (yes, the combination of technician AND performer DOES exist) and is excited to become immersed in the theatre community at Johnson County Community College, both in the scene shop and the classroom.
