Are you interested in studying matter, motion, energy, and force? Look no further than Johnson County Community College to fulfill your curiosity on the laws of physics.

What Will I Learn in JCCC’s Physics Courses?

From the smallest quarks and leptons to the biggest supercluster ever observed, the field of physics examines everything from the microscopic to the massive that makes up our physical world. It dares to ask the questions that can challenge what we think we know: Why are things the way they are? How does it all work?

To answer those and millions of other questions, physics applies the tools of mathematics to real-world situations. Its discoveries and theories also form the basis for nearly every other physical and biological science we study.

In JCCC’s Physics courses, you’ll learn about:

  • Translational and rotational motion, force, work, energy, momentum and fluid mechanics
  • Electricity and magnetism, waves, optics and modern physics
  • Areas of applied physics, including heat, thermodynamics, electricity, magnetism, light and more
  • Mathematics and physics concepts needed to program video games
