Ryan Jones

Ryan Jones has been an Adjunct in the Graphic Design department since 2010, with more than 15 years of professional experience in the industry. He holds a BFA in Graphic Design and a minor in Writing from Missouri State University. In his time at JCCC, Ryan has assisted in advancing the curriculum across a range of classes, with a focus on Typography, Advanced Typography, Professional Preparation and Advanced Design Practice. He also guides student leaders each year by providing creative direction for branding of the Graphic Design Showcase. In 2015, Ryan was honored with a Lieberman Teaching Excellence Award for Adjunct Faculty.

In addition to his position as an educator, Ryan runs a full-time design business. He specializes in working directly with local companies and organizations to create comprehensive brand identities that he then extends to printed collateral, packaging, web presence, e-commerce, packaging, and digital media campaigns. Ryan’s passion clients are natural healthy foods, products and services that enrich lives, and experiences that bring people together. He collaborates with a flexible network of independent professionals – including developers, writers, illustrators and marketing experts – having served clients such as Burns and McDonnell, The Center for Remote Sensing of Ice Sheets, Green Dirt Farm, Kansas City Power and Light, Kansas City Structural Steel, The Merc Co+op, New Leaf Paper, Westport Yoga and more. Formerly, Ryan worked for Willoughby Design Group under the title of Designer, Writer and Sustainability Specialist for clients including AIA Kansas City, Hallmark Cards, the City of Kansas City, the Kauffman Foundation, Mohawk Fine Paper, Park Place, and SPIN! Neapolitan Pizza.
