Instructors have provided the following information to generally describe what to expect in their classes.

Geoscience

Class Format

World Regional Geography and Physical Geography are lecture courses interspersed with a number of in-class small group work activities.

Resource Use

Textbooks: Textbooks are essential as there is material from the readings on all of the exams. The sections from the textbooks that students will be responsible for are identified before each of the exams.

Online homework: Limited.

Assessment

Lecturer courses are assessed on essays (2-3), in-class activities and exams.

Exams consist of multiple choice questions, short essays (1-2 paragraphs), diagrams and maps.

Homework Policy

As with most college classes, there is homework for all of the courses that I teach. Any assignment turned in late will be assessed a late grade of -10% for every day it is late.

Attendance Policy

Attendance is expected and required in order to do well in a college course. Students should contact me as soon as possible if they will be absent for a college-excused absence or will miss class for a legitimate reason (ex: a student is sick with the flu).
