Instructors have provided the following information to generally describe what to expect in their classes.


Economics

Class Format

The class is primarily lecture format and classroom participation and discussion.

Textbook: Econ 230 Macroeconomics by Campbell R. McConnell (McGraw-Hill)

Assessment

There will be five tests as announced in the assignment schedule below. The tests weight 85% (each test weights 17%).  

A = 90 - 100% Unit I 17%
B = 90 - 89.9% Unit II 17%
C = 70 - 79.9% Unit III 17%
D = 60 - 69.9% Unit IV 17%
F = Below 60% Unit V 17%

Attendance Policy

  1. Students who fail to attend the class 9 times/days (4 times for evening class) during the semester will lose one grade point (for example, the grade will be lowered from A to B).
  2. Students who fail to attend the class 14 times/days (6 times for evening class) will lose three grade points (for example, the grade will be lowered from A to C).
  3. Note on the department policy: The faculty will not drop the students for non-attendance. If you stop attending, it is your responsibility to drop the course.
