JCCC offers courses for Kansas and National EMT Recertification

The Johnson County Community College EMS program offers annual, comprehensive EMT and paramedic refreshers on our Overland Park, Kansas, campus. The design of each course is to meet the needs of all students who require a refresher course or recertification. Courses are designed to meet the requirements for both the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians and the Kansas Continued Competency Plan, and JCCC offers every hour in every topic for each certification and licensure level. All courses are approved through the Kansas Board of EMS.

The classes are presented in a hybrid format. Each course will meet on two separate weekends for pre and post-testing and hands-on practice. Lecture content is delivered online within the college's learning management system. Access to a reliable high-speed internet connection is required for successful completion. Access to the course and instructions on how to navigate it will be presented on the first class session for each course.

Successful completion of the training program will grant attendees certificates for both NREMT recertification and Kansas recertification at the respective level of the course. Early enrollment for a discounted price is available for each section.

All classes are coordinated through Scott Craig, Associate Professor of EMS and the Continuing Education Coordinator for EMS. Contact Scott Craig by e-mail or by phone at 913-469-8500, ext. 3289.
