Casey McNamara was born and raised in Kansas City and began his theatre career as an electrician at Shawnee Mission Theater in the Park. He recently received his MFA in Scenography from the University of Kansas, having also attended Avila University (BFA Theatre Design & Technologies) and Missouri Valley College, where he was the costume shop manager and designer.
In KC, Casey has worked with Egadz!, American Heartland Theatre, Starlight, Harvest Productions and Fire Designs. He previously worked eight years at Merry-Go-Round Playhouse in Auburn, New York, holding numerous titles. He has worked on several productions including the North American premiere of "From Here to Eternity," where he worked with Tim Rice. Most recently, he served as the resident lighting designer and master electrician for Canterbury Theater in Michigan City, Indiana, for its 2015 season.
Casey is excited to be a part of the Johnson County Community College Theatre Department, and looks forward to designing and working on future productions.
