Season Cowley

Season Cowley is the woodwind instructor and special projects coordinator for the department of Music, Theater and Recording Arts at JCCC. She holds a Master of Music from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale and a Bachelor of Music from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in clarinet performance. Her primary teachers include Dr. Eric Mandat and Cynthia Nichols.

While working on her master’s, she primarily focused on contemporary music performance and free improvisation. She has performed the music of Dr. Mandat at SIU’s Outside the Box New Music Festival in 2014 and 2015. Her participation in the SIU Improvisation Unit was also a strong influence in her musical development. She has performed at the Vandoren Clarinet Ensemble Clinic at the University of Illinois in Champagne-Urbana and is also an active participant in the International Clarinet Association.
