Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

Johnson County Community College provides EAP coverage with ComPsych® Guidance Resources®, at no cost, to all full-time and part-time regular employees. Guidance Resources provides support, resources and information for personal and work-life issues to you and your immediate family member’s. For more information, you can access the Guidance Resources website here, Employee Assistance Program and will need the Web ID in order to register for access (Web ID = JCCCEAP), or call 866-553-1848.

Confidential Counseling

No-cost counseling services help you address stress, relationship and other personal issues you and your family may face. Professionally trained Guidance Consultants--masters and doctoral level clinicians-- will listen to your concerns and quickly refer you to in-person counseling and other resources. Counseling services are provided by over 120 Kansas City-area professionally experienced staff. This service offers up to five free face-to-face visits per member per problem each benefit plan year which runs from June 1st to May 31st. Simply call 866-553-1848 for assistance.

Financial Information and Resources

Speak by phone with Certified Public Accountants and Certified Financial Planners on a wide range of financial issues, including credit card or loan problems, tax questions, estate planning, retirement planning and saving for college.

Legal Support and Resources

Talk to an attorney by phone. If you require representation Guidance Resources will refer you to a qualified attorney in your area for a free 30-minute consultation with a 25% reduction in customary legal fees thereafter. You can call about, divorce and family law, debt and bankruptcy, contracts, real estate transactions, civil and criminal actions, etc.

Work-Life Solutions

Guidance Resources Work-Life specialists will do the research for you, providing qualified referrals and customized resources for such things as child and elder care, moving and relocation, college planning, pet care, etc.


Should a referral to an outside resource be required, a Guidance Resources counselor will facilitate a referral to a self-help group, a behavioral health professional, local mental health agency, physician, hospital or other necessary resource. JCCC will not be responsible for the cost of these services, however, the Guidance Resources counselor will assist the employee in utilizing their health insurance plan if applicable.
